Michaela started swing dancing in 2011 and has been teaching since 2013. She has performed as part of various Lindy Hop and African American Vernacular Jazz Dance groups including the Skyliners, the Dinahs and the Hotfoot Strutters. She performed in the show ‘Make a Song and Dance’ with the Vintage Swing Collective in 2018. She is proud to work with dedicated dancers in Club Stomp, the troupe she manages with Jeff Tong. She has competed around the world and been lucky enough to place a few of those times – she is particularly proud of her choreography that scored first places across the board for the Team Routine at Savoy Cup 2017 with the Skyliners.

Lindy Hop and African American Vernacular Jazz Dance offer many dynamic and exciting opportunities – dancing with different people, creativity through improvisation as well as choreography, and through growing a deeper understanding of the dances’ history and culture. With her classes she hopes to open the door to some of these ideas and help her students discover their own dance adventures.
